Singapore’s first Applied Games & VR Specialist Programme

The Metaverse refers to the multiple immersive and interactive virtual, augmented, and mixed realities that surround us today. The Metaverse is expanding at a phenomenal rate due to the proliferation of Applied Games. This is the application of Games, Game Technologies, and Methodologies to solve real world challenges in Healthcare, Education, Corporate Training, Events, Construction, Manufacturing, Communications, Government, and other Non-Entertainment sectors.

This new kind of media needs a new breed of developers with a new kind of discipline.

Playware is proud partner to with NTUC LearningHub to present Singapore’s first ever Applied VR & Game Specialist Programme.  Designed as a Hands-on Internship & Training Programme, this course is meant for working Adults who may wish to switch careers to enter this industry. 

Covering a wide variety of tools and techniques, this programme provides opportunities for professional portfolio building in Applied Games and VR with live Industry Project work. Participants will also get to hear from and network with Industry Leaders and Champions in the Games, Virtual Reality and Immersive media Industries.

Offered as a SGUnited Skills (SGUS) programme it is a 6-month full-time training programme designed to help unemployed Singaporeans/PRs to upskill and reskill themselves with industry-relevant skills and knowledge. The training will be conducted on a full-time basis, but in modular format. Trainees will receive a monthly training allowance for the duration of their training to cover their basic expenses. They will also receive career advisory and employment assistance in their search for relevant jobs that will utilise their newly acquired skills.
