Primary students become game-designers at the Maker Faire 2017

80 students attended our Academy of Play workshops at Canberra Primary School from March to May 2017. The Primary 4 and 5 students worked on games based on Singaporean legends, Badang and The Legend of Sisters Island respectively.

Using Playstructor, students planned their game flow, created minigames and added information triggers. The students were innovative in taking aspects of the legends to make their games. For example, one team created a game in which Lina needed to find 6 pieces of laundry, before the pirate arrives.

The Primary 5 students also had the change to decide a character for their game using modelling clay.
As a final milestone, each level had their own Maker Faire to showcase their games to their peers and prizes were given to the Best Game in Show.
