Last Friday 1 November, nine schools under the Singapore Ministry of Education came together at the Alienware Arena cyber cafe to discuss their use of games for learning, along with play and media creation as pedagogy on the 3DHive platform. We had over 37 teachers from their respective schools participate and contribute to the discussions on bringing forward the meaningful use of games in the classroom.
The session kicked off with an opening address by Sam Wong, Principal of Canberra Primary School on creating opportunities in a 3DHive learning community.
This was followed by Playware’s Creative Director Sid Jain on the latest updates on the software as well as the many possibilities for learning on the platform.
Contributing to the event was the Ministry of Education’s Education Technology Division officer Grace Dong speaking on their support to the schools undertaking the project.
Other highlights include the sharing sessions by Greenridge Primary School, Canberra Primary School and Wellington Primary School on their use of 3DHive in their classes and how they’ve integrated it into their curricula.
