MY MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE IN PLAYWARE SO FAR…

So far, every moment I have been with Playware has been memorable. Together with Mitch, I work mostly in the 3DHive Builder; adding additional features. I use AS3 as the base language and work on web development projects using C# and .net language. I’m also leading the technical part of the 3DHive distribution to MOE schools as well. The everyday tasks challenge me to upgrade my skill and take me to the next level. I can see the difference of where I am now (compared to when I first started) and how I have been forged and molded by the company.

THE MOST EXCITING THING ABOUT 3DHIVE IS…

The things that excites me most about Playware is its ability to make its dream come to true. I am so excited to see this company to really start getting bigger in quality and quantity and getting stronger in line with other big multinational companies.

MY ADVICE FOR ASPIRING GAME PROGRAMMERS

The most challenging aspect of being a programmer is the debugging. It is when you have coded everything, the application gets bigger and a bug comes out of nowhere and starts to crash the application. There have also been cases when I expect a programme to work but it starts to show some errors, and I can’t figure out where the problems are coming from  since my stimulations show that it should work. It can be quite frustrating coming to that point and you need to enjoy what you are doing

It’s important to appreciate your achievement and look back to where you were and where you are now. It will help you to be motivated in pursuing what you are doing and to do better than where you were. Learn to be patient. When you are assigned to a big project, take it seriously and give it your best. Don’t be afraid to fail. Don’t be afraid to try bigger things.

In my experience, I’ve learned that not everything can be done so easily. Sometimes, there are things that I don’t know but others might know. Don’t rely on your own knowledge, try to ask help when needed and share your knowledge every time you discover something new.
