“The aim of this project was to try to visualise the future of education,” says Siddharth Jain, Chief Creative Director, Playware Studios Asia.

Jain explains that when innovating for future classrooms one must consider the need to reform all aspects of it — from professional development, teacher training and curriculum development, to interaction with other educational technology — as all elements are connected. “The future is never about technology only,” he says, adding that 3DHive is a holistic approach to education that considers the needs of teachers, students, infrastructure and curriculum.

Hosted on the cloud with Microsoft Azure, 3DHive is a social, play-enabled virtual classroom empowering schools to embrace ‘games in learning’ to tap the immense learning potential. The platform provides all the tools and resources a school needs to create, play, manage and share games. It also comes with inbuilt tools for assessment of each student’s performance through the playing and making of games.”
