In November 2012, Playware Studios was involved in designing an interactive learning experience called “The Learning Court” a project with the Supreme Court of Singapore. Our involvement included creating a virtual representation of the Supreme Court building and an avatar to navigate and learn more about the history of the Supreme Court through interactive videos. All of which was motion controlled with the help of a Microsoft Kinect running on Windows 7.
“Through these activities, students can learn about Singapore’s legal system and the role of judges, lawyers and litigants. The programme is part of the Supreme Court’s public education and outreach effort.” Chief Justice Chan Sek Keong said: “The processes of the courts are explained in an engaging manner by using immersive and tactile technologies… This will foster a better understanding of court procedures and processes, which is vitally important to the proper understanding of our legal system.”
